He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Baird and Mary Baird (McGee); his significant other Claire; his child Lynn Gemmill (Doug); and his siblings, Ken (Elaine), Eric (Liz), Helen Craig (Mel) and Elaine Bayliss (Frank).
He is survived by: his sisters-in-law, Lorna Burns (late Ken) and Lillian Baird (late Ellwood). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Barker Funeral Home (19 MacArthur Ave, Carleton Place, ON K7C2W1). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
For those who wish, donations in Russell's memory may be made to the Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital Foundation or to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind.
