He was predeceased by: his father Henry Van Oosten; and his grandparents, Rene Van Oosten and Muriel Somerville. He is survived by: his mother Lynda Johnston; his sister Brooke Van Oosten; his grandmother Alida Van Oosten; his stepfather Harry Murray; and his aunts and uncles, Donna Wallace, Bob Pettigrew (Laure), Carla Fernandes, Bill Pettigrew (Charlene), Kim McInnes (Tom) and Cora Cordick (Dan).
