He was predeceased by: his parent Georges; his siblings, Alice, Bertha, Georges, Emile, Reina, Ida, Hector, Jeanne, Albert and Rene; his son Michael (Judy Rose); and his parent Sheila Ford (Dennis).

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Courrier; his children, Daniel (Dianne O'Reilly), Richard (Cathy), Barbara (Michael Usher) and David (Caroline Campbell); his niece Lynn Ford; his nephew Joe Denommee (Amy); his grandchildren, Angela, Allison, Wendy Lamont, Michael Jr., Alexandra Knowles, Christopher, Leslie, Stuart, Brent Watkins, Wrenna, Mier, Adeline, Amelia, Oliver and Caitlin; and his child Grampa Joe Louie.
