He was predeceased by: his parents, Felix McLaughlin and Alice (Beaudette). He is survived by: his wife Jackie; his children, Philip (Diane), Barbara (Geoff), John (Jane), Betty (Bruce) and Beverly; his grandchildren, Emily, Evan, Matthew, Melissa, Mike, Ryan, Alyssa, Ava and Andrew; and his siblings, Patrick (Audrey Eastman), Margaret Flummerfelt (Peter), Terrence, Elaine Gariepy (Guy), Michael (Linda Thedford), Wally (Jan Saigal) and Ann Jackson (John).

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John to Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital are appreciated.
