James E. Thompson Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James E. Thompson in Carleton Place, Ontario, who passed away on February 4, 2025, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Ethel Evelyn; his children, Mel (Maria), Sharlyne (Brian Truelove), Karen (Bob McNeely) and Gail Childs; and his grandchildren, Chad, Brooke, Mark, Amber, Michael, Ben, Jim, Julie, Crystal and Jeff.
He is survived by: his brothers, Lester and Winston; and his sisters-in-law, Joyce Thompson and Judy Thompson. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the Capital Funeral Home and Cemetery (3700 Prince of Wales Dr, Ottawa, ON K2C3H1). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Capital Funeral Home & Cemetery (3700 Prince of Wales Dr, Ottawa, ON K2C3H1). A burial was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 1:45 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
