He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Baxter and Audrey Baxter (Dykeman); and his brother Malcom Baxter. He is survived by: his wife Dawn Baxter; his children, Carl Baxter and Andrea Monette (Shawn); his grandchildren, Erynn and Nathan Monette; his sister Rosalie Brittain (Hugh); his sister-in-law Anne Angevine; his mother-in-law Lillian Atkins; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Hunter (Gen) and Barbara Hunter. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Donations in Gordon's memory may be made to the MS Society of Canada, St. John's Church in Innisville, or the Lanark County Food Bank.
