He was predeceased by: his wife Laurabell; his children, John and Margie; his daughter-in-law Margaret; and his brother Arnold (Marion).

He is survived by: his children, Bill (Sharon), Bob (Lil), Bev (Bert Thom), Jim (Louise), Ron (Ruth), Shirley (Lorne MacDonald) and Joyce (Marc Rinfret). He is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
