He was predeceased by: his wife Olive; his parents, Thomas Thompson and Mary Thompson; his brother Lloyd Thompson; his brothers-in-law, Gordon Brown, Bob Teeple, Harry Albright, George Jantzen and Doug Stephenson; and his parents-in-law, Elgin and Anna Whitehead.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Ann Valad (Dean) of St. Clements and Tom of Cargill; his grandchildren, Melissa and Alexander John "A. J."; his sisters, Eileen Brown of Paisley, Mary Teeple of Paisley and Jean Albright of Elmwood; and his siblings-in-law, Marilyn Thompson of Cargill, Vera Jantzen of Walkerton, Betty Ann Stephenson of Chesley, Allen Whitehead (Dianne) of Hanover and Wilfred Whitehead (Linda) of Ingersoll.
