With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jan Thorleif Braaten (Cardinal, Ontario), who passed away on April 18, 2020 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Thorleif Braaten and Randi Braaten; his wife Margaret Lowe Braaten (Peggy); and his sister Bitte. He is survived by: his brother Bjorn; his sons, Thorbjorn, Torgeir (Donna), Torstein (Michelle) and Arthur (Jesika Walker); and his grandchildren, Axel, Claire and Mats.

As he got older and developed Alzheimer's disease, Jan retained his genuine personality.
