He was predeceased by: his wife Marlene (Bruce); his daughter Leanne; his parents, David Behnke and Erda Behnke (Weland); and his siblings, Doreen (Garfield Fleguel), Edwin and Kenny.

He is survived by: his children, Joanne Potts (John) of Bancroft, Dianne Mountney (Dwayne) of Cardiff, Luanne Florent of Cardiff and Suanne Behnke of Cardiff; his grandchildren, Amanda, Sarah (Isaac), Ashley (Jamie), Jenna (Bryce) and Tyler; and his siblings, Lois, Raymond (Jean), Howard, Barbara Ann (Bill Burgess), Calvin, Gary (Wilma) and Deanna (Laurie Vernick). He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
