He was predeceased by: his parents, William Francis and Dorothy Ingram; and his sister Brenda Aryhart. He is survived by: his wife Diane Francis; his children, Cindy Slain (John), Kerry Francis and Ted Francis (Richelle); his grandchildren, Jennifer Bernard (Vinnie), Jessica Carter, James Francis (Madison), Johnny Montgomery (Ally), Tiffany Martel (Travis), Alyssa Baldock (Jesse) and Nicole Slain (Tyler); his great grandchildren, Jesse, Jayden, Parker, Brynleigh, River, Rocket and Ranger; and his siblings, Dave Francis (Ruth), Mary Griffiths (late Jim), Danny Cochrane (Marie) and Crystal Cochrane (late Keith). He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
