He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Lawson and Laura Lawson; his birth mother Audrey Pennamon; his siblings, Ricky, Ronnie, Steven and Sharon; and his grandson Max.

He is survived by: his close friend Deborah Campbell; his children, Tara Lawson (Chad), Paul Jr. Lawson (Bobbi-Lynn), Charlene, Lisa, Sherri-Lynn Audrey and April; his grandchildren, Sheldon, Ethan, Hunter and Emmi; his sister Mary Darlene; and his siblings-in-law, Byron and Lynn Noseworthy.
