He was predeceased by: his parents, Morley Johnston and Eileen Johnston; his brothers, Merv, Orland, Carl, Eric and Glen; and his sister-in-law Dianne Martin (Robert).
He is survived by: his wife Doreen (Shannon); his daughters, Susan Bontaine (late Jim) and Lori Shields (Gord); his grandchildren, Adam (Trisha), Tyler (Michaela), Andrea (Ryan) and Kyle (Adrienne); his great grandchildren, Hannah, Carter, Arie, Riley, Benjamin and Luke; and his sisters-in-law, Janet and Mary-Lou.
