He was predeceased by: his wife Mary McNeill (Molly); his daughter Lana Regan (Joe); his grandson Cameron Kenny; and his parents, James and Elizabeth of Slamannan, Scotland..

He is survived by: his children, George (Anne Marie), Esther and James (Colette); his grandchildren, Brandon Gainey of North Carolina, McKayla (Andrew), Aidan and Callum Kenny (Julia); his great grandchildren, Devyn and Jayda Gainey; his siblings, Jim, Margaret, Rena, Annie and John; and his friend Concession.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Association.
