He was predeceased by: his wife Janet Fahrer; and his siblings, Allan, Bob, Leon and Marion.

He is survived by: his sisters, Jean Hostein and Corrine Ridge (Jack); his children, Velda Guyatt and Jane Alvey (Dan); his grandchildren, Daniel (Chalene), Sarah (Parry), John, Lorena, Colton and Isaac; his children, Theo Alvey and Phoebe Alvey; and also Bob Smithers (Nadine).
