He was predeceased by: his parents, Angus Coles and May Coles; and his brother Lavern. He is survived by: his wife Olive Coles; his children, Dale Coles (Bonnie), Jane Macivor (Greg), Stephen Coles and Gregory Coles (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Michelle Cowell (Derek), Caitlin Beecroft (Sean), Amanda Coles (Laura), Ryan Coles, Jeremy Martin (Sara) and Anthony Martin (Alyssa); and his siblings, Grace, Betty and Murray.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or St. John's Anglican Church East Orangeville.

Ron had an infectious laugh and loved to tease. He was the M/C at our wedding, the bus driver on a Grade eight field trip to Ottawa where Greg and I first meet. Ron was very supportive to Greg as he discerned his calling to ordained ministry. We have been blessed to have known him. Greg and Ardith Symmes”
