He is survived by: his spouse Cristina Pierce; his children, Alexandra Balasa and Raluca Balasa; his sibling Martin Pierce (Rebecca); his brother-in-law Rob Verner (Peggy); his nieces, Becky Verner and Elizabeth Scheiderer (John); his great-niece Emilee Scheiderer; and his mother-in-law Aneta Ionescu.
