She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Trevor Lewis; her children, Jennifer (Andrew Perrin) and Joshua (Cameron Jessup); her sisters, Grace Smith (Otto), Lynn Bellamy (late John) and Nancy Groen (Gerry); and her parents, Doug Thomas and Nora Thomas. She was also cherished by nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Ruth's wishes, a Celebration of Life will take place once pandemic restrictions permit.
