He was predeceased by: his parent Peter McDonald; his wife Mary McDonald; and his siblings, Alexander, Kathleen, Patricia and Peter.
He is survived by: his parent Bridgette Agnes McDonald; his great grandchildren, Nathan and Hannah; his sisters, Sheila Hitchcock and Veronica McGrogan; his niece Frances; and his close friend Susan Kilpatrick. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
