He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Korleen Neilson and James Edward Neilson; his wife Nancy (Wynn); his sisters, Margot (John Blevins) and Martha Lyn; his sons, James (Stephanie) and Robert (Robin); and his grandchildren, Ella, Wyatt, Isobel, Chelsea and Sadie.
