She was predeceased by: her siblings, Antoinette (Tony), Ralph (Eda), Sal (Laurie) and Dom (Yvonne). She is survived by: her spouse Ismaele "Jack" Gecchelin; her children, Maria Ridsdale (Bernie), Silvana Land (John) and Renato Gecchelin; her grandchildren, Chantel, Kyle, Catherine Ridsdale, Gabrielle Land and Jonathan Land; and her siblings, Joanne (late Sabatino), Carmela (Carmen), Angelo (Franca) and Maria (late Romolo). She is also survived by her extended family, many nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.

As an expression of sympathy, donations in Rita's memory to The Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
