He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret McFarlane; his children, Marie, Liam (Judy), Peter, Margaret (Dave), Iain and Brian (Melanie); his grandchildren, Sarah, Brendan, Megan, Brianna, Heather, Michael, Tosh, Avery, Logan and Ainsley; and his great grandchild Halima.

He is survived by: his brother Iain McFarlane of Old Kilpatrick, Scotland..
