She was predeceased by: her husband Peter Oakes; and her siblings, Frank Michalewitz (Vivian), Rose Jones (late Eric), Valerie DeBenedetti (late James) and Albin Michalewitz (late Mildred).
She is survived by: her children, Larry Oakes, Ronald Oakes (Rudina) and Patricia Oakes (William Lake); her grandchildren, Courtney Oakes and Adam Oakes (Aleksandra); her great grandchildren, Peter, Conor, Ksavier and Lilja; and her sisters, Agnes Oddi (Angelo) and Helen Elesie.
As an expression of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jennie to Mount Nemo Christian Nursing Home in Burlington would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
