Ian Holmes Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ian Holmes (Burlington, Ontario), who passed away on August 18, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Madge; his children, Wayne and Elaine (Tom Heaver); and his grandsons, Alex and Will.

“Ian was a good friend and neighbour for 50 years, always ready to lend a hand and offer encouragement. Ian had lots of great stories from his life in Scotland, America and Canada. With a few breaks he could have been a professional musician. As it was, he is one of the last professionals to have worked on the Avro Arrow project. I shall remember working on our shared fence together, Ian’s frankness and compassion and honesty. Loved by his neighbours on Castleguard Ian will be sorely missed.”
