He was predeceased by: his wife Frances Norton; his sons, Michael and David Norton; and his sister Bernice Stevenson. He is survived by: his children, Alan Norton (Melissa) and Tracy McDougall (Bill); his stepchildren, Stacy Eastman (Joanne) and Donna Kennedy (Dave); his granddaughters, Carol Wesholowski (Phil) and Heather Nolan (Sean); his great grandchildren, Jake, Charlie, Brooke, Maeve, Lily and Enasjah; and his grandchildren, Leanne Rogerson (Walter), Rayne Eastman, Matthew, Haley McDougall, Greatest, Kennedy, Travis and Mavis.
