He was predeceased by: his parents, George Ireland and Cicely Ireland; and his son Lawrence John. He is survived by: his spouse Tracy Ireland; his daughters, Emily George (Brett) and Laura Ireland; his grandchildren, Joey and Mia Ireland; his sister Judy Ireland; his sister-in-law Sue Cunningham; and his nieces, Sarah and Beth.
