He was predeceased by: his siblings, Hardy and Francie Hahkala (Aarne); and his son-in-law Grant Gaffney. He is survived by: his children, Mike (Maggie), Nancy Gaffney (Fred) and Tim (Krista); his grandchildren, Kyle, Courtney, Raymond, Victoria, Sarah, Taylor, Alex and Christine; his great grandchildren, Caleb, Logan and Cohen; his sisters, Marlene McQuarrie (Jim) and Marianne Williamson (Alan); and his grandmother Ervick.
