He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Stafford Abbott and Mona Crabtree Abbott Gad; and his brother Donald Peter Abbott. He is survived by: his wife Alison; his daughters, Sarah Abbott and Margaret; his stepdaughters, Jennifer Rylander (Brian) and Kristen Rylander; the mother of his children Sally Ramsey; his brother Roger Abbott (Carmen); his sister-in-law Elizabeth; his nieces, Linda Ray (Ian) and Kimberly Abbott (Andrew); his nephew Peter Abbott (Mong Hoa); and his stepgrandchildren, Elizabeth Schouten (Ben), Alison Schouten and Timothy Rylander.
