He was predeceased by: his parents, Edolar Blad and Eva Blad; and his siblings, Carol Bird (Charles), Eddie Blad (Ginny), Harriett Joyce (Lawrence), Margaret "Peggy" Byrd (Ernest), Doris Couperus (Bram) and Karen Bukovac.

He is survived by: his wife Sandra; his daughters, Deborah Blad (Bill) and Lisa Broniszeski (Scott); his grandchildren, Brennan, Rachel, Charleigh, Rebecca and Samuel; and his brother Brian (Linda). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
