He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Gilbert and Agnes Gilbert. He is survived by: his sister Nellie Rae; his spouse Jean Isobel Saunders; his children, Stephen, Nelson, Christopher and Margaret; and his grandchildren, Malorie, Ryan, Nicholas, Catlin, Alexander, James, Averie, Paige, Reid, William and Michael.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel (4 James St E, Brockville, ON K6V1J9). Fred contracted Covid over the holidays and was unable to recover and left us peacefully, with family by his side on January 14th, 2025, at the Ottawa Civic Hospital.
