She was predeceased by: her parents, Gordon Markell and Flossie Markell; her husband Allan Simser; and her brothers, Jimmy and David.

She is survived by: her child Allan Markell (Melanie) of Cornwall; her grandchildren, Shayna and Sawyer; and her siblings, Lisa Beatson (David) of Glen Stewart and Penny Wright (John) of Cornwall. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
