He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Chorney and Jeanette Chorney; and his brothers, Dan (Elaine) and Don Chorney (Jean). He is survived by: his wife Catherine Clark Chorney; his stepchildren, Elizabeth Clark (Rick), Jennifer Piché (William) and Andrew Clark (Betty); his sons, Wayne Chorney (Pam), Scott Chorney (Karen) and Craig Chorney (Wanda); and his grandchildren, Andrew (Heather), Mikaela, Katryna, Annina, Josh, Jordan, Evan and Joel. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
