He was predeceased by: his wife Judith Van Nigtevecht. He is survived by: his girlfriend Frances "Fran" Spencer of Campbellford; his children, Pieter Dal (Lisa) of Carrying Place, Karin Grootveld (Jerry) and Yolanda Hamilton of Vancouver; and his grandchildren, Brandon Hamilton (Kathryn), Benjamin Grootveld (Alana), Samara Hamilton, Jake Grootveld (Arielle), Kestra Bott (Nicholas), Monique Grootveld, Patrick Dal (Rae-Anna) and Brendan Dal.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Quinte would be appreciated by the family.
