He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael and Catherine; and his siblings, Eilis, John, Gerald, Michael and Paddy.

He is survived by: his wife Eleanor; his children, Ian, Edward (June), Paul and Isobel; his grandchildren, Vincent, Isabeau, Olivia and Connor; his stepchildren, Dennis (Bernice), Debbie (Alex), Delphine, Barb (Tom) and Brenda (Clyde); and his siblings, Oliver (Bridget), Emily O'Kane (Enda) and Edward (Teresa).
