He was predeceased by: his parents, Giuseppe Modica and Giuseppina Modica. He is survived by: his wife Paola; his children, Josie and Max; his grandchildren, Sofia, Michele and Annalise; his siblings, Benedetto, Francesco, Angela and VitaMaria; his brother-in-law Matteo; and his brother Vincenzo. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.

Donations in Emanuele's memory can be made to the Juravinski hospital.
