Donald Heys Obituary

It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Donald Heys of Brantford, Ontario, who passed away at the age of 85, on April 17, 2025. He was predeceased by: his parents, Eleanor Heys (Heeney) and Joseph Heys of Brantford; and his brother-in-law Marvyn. He is survived by: his wife Hélène (Guilbert); his sons, Joseph "Eric" (Linda) and Peter (Janet); his granddaughters, Emily Cassar (David), Madeline (Elliott), Laura and Grace; his great grandchild Willow Rose Cassar; his siblings, Paul (Sue) and Barbara Hall; and his close friend Gary Surette.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, May 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre (88 Brant Ave, Brantford, ON N3T3H3).

Perhaps his greatest contribution to Rotary was the establishment of the "Clowns for Kids" fundraiser at the annual Christmas Parade, which to date has raised over $650, 000 for the Lansdowne Children's Centre.
