He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Tessie and Owen; his fathers, Jerry Bratvold and Paul Spies; his grandmother Shirley van; his siblings, Steven (Krysta), Tracey, Amanda (Kyle) and Duane; his nieces and nephews, Tyler, Kayla, Gage, Cody, Faith, Sebastian and Myles; and his grandparents, Ron Braniff, Grace and Emerson Spies. He was also cherished by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
