“It was Charles that suggested the Matsumae Fellowship to me in Japan which I applied and was successful in 2004. AS at that time Charles was in the US. To Rose, the kids, his mum and siblings Uka, Ik, Ifeanyi and Tobe, be strong as Charles is already interceding with you people in heaven. May God accept Charles in His bossom as he lived a life that benefitted his family and friends.”

“It was saddening to read that we will never meet on earth again. Charles was a good friend who always helped whenever he can. I lived with Charles for almost one year in Nsukka before he left for his PG studies in Japan. While in Japan, he send me some documents and a book (in two volumes) which helped me conclude my PhD in record time. That was a period when internet was very hard to access from this part of the world. Charles had to send the books to me in Nigeria, materials that weighed 5kg.”
