He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his daughter Laura (John); his grandchildren, Hunter (Erin), Arden and Jordan; his sister-in-law Gloria (Bob); and his sister Sharron.

“Dear Nancy & Family, My sincere condolences to all of you. i first met Bernie in 1965 outside your door in Lynnwood as he was leaving. He was chatty and we remarkied about how we lived next door and hadn't gotten acquainted. He said "Nancy is home now, why don't you knock on her door?" So, i did and she was so lovely and engaging. Nancy and I made plans to get together with my sister Valeria, where i was staying. I went to Alberta but their beautiful friendship flourished.”
