He was predeceased by: his parents, John May and Elsie May (Babcock); his wife Mary Joan; and his brothers, Henry John and David Neil Eaton.
He is survived by: his friends, Jack Hassard and Probus; his children, William Leonard (Toni), Jonathan David (Shelley) and Martha Marguerite; his sister Patricia May; his grandchildren, Michael (Claire), Jonathan (Amy), Katie, Taylor Hanson and Erica (Clark); and his great grandchildren, Johanna, Evelyn, Lincoln, Elliott, Silas, Carter, Ronin and Jack.
