He was predeceased by: his parents, Freela Newson and Gordon Newson; his wife Doreen Lambert; his son Dean; his siblings, Betty, Merilyn and Larry; and his granddaughter Ashley.
He is survived by: his daughter Luann; his grandchildren, Katelyn (Derek), Karyn (Rob), Kristen (JD), Kevin (Alejandra), Mitchell, Max, Matthew (Heather), Danielle, Michelle, Madeleine (Petros), Olivia, Charlotte and Nolan; his sisters, Shirley and Carol (Richard); his brother-in-law Doug; and his friend Lee. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
