She was predeceased by: her husband Alfons Palberg; her son Michael; and her son-in-law Paul Simms. She is survived by: her children, John (Deanna), Elisabeth (Paul) and Rebecca (David); her sister Trudy Brockmeyer (Dieter); and her grandsons, Daniel, Luke, Caleb and Joel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Canadian Wildlife Federation, an organization that Barbara felt strongly about.
