He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Rita (Nydam); his children, Wayne (Alison), Chuck, Gloria Jean, David, Glenda Scholten (Bill) and Jeanne Scholten (Jack); his grandchildren, Christa of Jody, Christopher (Tereza), Joshua (Jill), Scottie (Cheri), Hollie (Matt), Brooke (Josh), Chad (Danielle), Chantal (Amir) and Troy; his siblings, Arnold (Helen), Dorothy (late John), Ann (late Jake), Catherine (late Bill) and Jake (Irene); and his siblings-in-law, Elsie, Shirley and Bill (Flora). He was also cherished by his nieces and nephews.

In Bill's memory, donations may be made to the King Christian School or to the Westside Community Church.
