He is survived by: his wife Maria; his children, Harold Silveira (Michelle) and Nancy Boyd (George); his grandchildren, Jonathan, Justin, Jasmine, Cole and Keeley; and his sister Maria Cabral.

In John's memory, donations may be made to The Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County.
