It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Olavi Melvin Sikola (Bracebridge, Ontario), born in Rouyn-Noranda, Québec, who passed away on October 24, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his significant other Ida Sikola; his siblings, Karl Sikola and Taimi Skalin; his nephew George Skalin; and his parents, Onni Sikola and Alina Sikola.
He is survived by: his sister Mamie Polawski (Heinz); his brother-in-law George Skalin; his nieces and nephews, Sheila Cumming (Ray), Jerry Polawski, Gayle Skalin (Laurence), Debbie Moore, Mark Skalin (Joanne) and Helen McDougall (George); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Stephanie, Natasha, Karl, Brian, David, Laurie, Kate, George, Jessie, Alicia, Amos, Neal, Wyatt, Nell, Adrienne and Jennifer; and also, Ryley, Mattison, Abbigail, Teagan, Logan, David, Ethan, Elijah, Charlotte, Olivia and Annabelle. He is also survived by his family, lifelong friends.
