It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty M. Speck (Bracebridge, Ontario), who passed away on December 2, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Betty M. Speck to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Leeder and Amelia Leeder; and her husband Merv. She is survived by: her siblings, Lawrence, Arnold Leeder (Jane) and Verna Slater (Ron); and her children, Deborah Payne (Marshall), Christina Purdon (Robert) and Dwight Speck (Stephanie). She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Society (Muskoka) (https://alzheimermuskoka.kindful.com) and The Pines LTCH (Auxiliary) in lieu of flowers.

“Betty was a key member of the business community in downtown Bracebridge for many years. She and Merv owned and operated Stones' Men's and Ladies' Wear, and rented out several apartments, in the 70s, 80s and 90s, when we were also on the main street. The business sense and hard work which she and Merv put in were huge assets to the town. Betty and Merv attended our church, and were neighbours of Cathy's family on Woodchester. We extend our sympathies to the family at this difficult time.”
