He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Donna; his children, Brady Gibney (Heather), Daren Gibney, Jodi Leddy (Jerry) and Mona Hood; his grandchildren, Kacy (Dan), Gary (Amy), Richard, Maari (Miguel), Spencer, Jillian, Raegan (Christian), Madison and Sheridan; and his great grandchildren, Beauden and Emilia.

“Donna and family... I was so very sorry to hear of Gary's passing! I tried several times to reach you both but no one had your number. I've been in Florida a number of years & have two large pictures in my craft room. I treasure them for all the memories. Gary loved the peanut butter cups I made, saying they were better than Reese's! He was one of the special friends I had in the Newsroom. You may not remember, I was Ted Stuebing's secretary.
