He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Asling and Marjorie Asling; and his brother Kenneth Asling. He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his children, Kimberly Asling-Ings (David), Sean Asling (Rachelle) and Tara Asling (Joe Kehoe); his grandchildren, Richard Ford (Kapo Lo), Jennifer Ford, Aurora Asling, Andrew Sturgeon, Nathan Sturgeon, Megan Sturgeon, Sarah Sturgeon, Heather Sturgeon, Mary Kehoe, Christopher Kehoe, Payton Martin, Callan Kehoe, Irelynn Kehoe and Liam; his sisters, Noreen Willoughby, Doreen Roberge (Ron) and Valerie Leonard; and his sister-in-law Lenora Harper. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He worked for 54 years total until his recent layoff in March due to Covid 19.
