He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Rice and F. Marguerita Rice (Ramsay); his sister Joan Bell (late Walter); and his son David Alexander Rice. He is survived by: his wife Janet; his son Andrew John Rice (Patty McGregor); his grandsons, Alexander, William and Grant Rice; his nieces, Andrea (Rob Faulds), Sarah (Jim Long) and Heather (Greg Hiscox); his nephew Richard; his daughters, Margaret and Elizabeth Drent; and also Janice (Jan J. Drent) of Victoria, B. C..

Due to Covid restrictions a Private Service will be held on Thursday August 12th at St. Paul's United Church at 1 pm.

Memorial Donations may be made to Bowmanville Hospital Foundation, Durham Hospice (Clarington Site) or St. Paul's United Church.
