In loving memory of Joan Rice (Bowmanville, Ontario), who departed this world on October 20, 2024 at the age of 84. Joan leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Phyllis Dobney and Roy Dobney; her brother John Dobney; her husband Hugh Rice; and her close friend Horace Vetzal.
She is survived by: her daughters, Lisa Cloutier (Marc) and Susan Waplington (Bill Wiseman); her grandchildren, Gary Larsen (Kyllie), Jessica Spilchen (Keith), Justin Waplington (Brandy Good-Swimmer) and Cameron Wiseman; her stepgrandchildren, Karlee Hamelin (Jason) and Vanessa (Blake McGregor); and her great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Dashiell, Nyomi, Navie, Bentley and Kathryn. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 25th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home (53 Division St, Bowmanville, ON L1C2Z8).
